Revlon Emerald

Happy 2013!! I hope everyone celebrated midnight in style. I saw Les Mis (...again) with my friends during the day, and then we went to my friend's house to ring in the new year with drinks and good company.

Since Emerald has been declared the 2013 colour of the year, Revlon Emerald is the perfect polish to kick off 2013. Revlon Emerald is, well, a emerald green creme polish. I remembered reading on The Daily Varnish that Emerald was a dupe for the classic OPI Jade is the New Black, so when I saw it on sale I scooped it up!

Cloudy, 2 coats plus topcoat


Emerald had the same great formula I've come accustomed to from Revlon. Revlon has to be one of my favourite nail polish brands for their affordable dupes and consistently great formulas.

I've never been the biggest fan of quick-dry nail colours (that's what topcoat's for, right?), but I didn't have any trouble with this one. Emerald was easy to work with and wasn't too thick at all.

  3. So happy about the color of the year, too! Finally something not orangy... Revlon dupes are the best... what are there two or three Lippmann clones in their line. I have Smoldering the Butter London Knackered dupe... I have to say $5 was way better than spending $15.

    1. Haha, I know! Green is SO much more wearable for me than orange, so I'm a happy camper. I agree, Revlon dupes are definitely the best - I'll pay $5 over $15 any day!
