So long, farewell, Google Reader...

Hi everyone! As I'm sure you've heard by now, Google announced last week that they are discontinuing Google Reader. Here are some options for how you can keep updated on Paperbacks and Polish!

Facebook

I created my Facebook page a couple of days ago, so it's just getting started. I update it with every new post, and there's going to be lots of pretty nail pictures!

Bloglovin'

Bloglovin' seems to be admirably filling the place of Google Reader! It's super easy to use, and nicely consolidates all of your favourite blogs into a daily update, which is really handy. They even have a one-click import option that will transfer all of your Google Reader blogs into Bloglovin! (Thanks Heather, for letting us know about this in your post!)

Follow on Bloglovin

Twitter

I do love Twitter! There you'll find me tweeting about general nail things, Vampire Diaries (and other tv shows, namely Game of Thrones), books, and of course new post updates!

Pinterest

Nails, recipes, and beautiful people!

Follow Me on Pinterest

As always, thank YOU for reading and being the best readers out there!

KBShimmer Where My Peeps At

With Easter just around the corner, what better time for a perfect Easter polish? KBShimmer Where My Peeps At is a creamy pale yellow polish filled with pastel circle glitters. It's no secret that I love yellow polishes, and this one is another winner.

Grab your peeps (or Easter candy of choice) and enjoy the pretty polish!

Sunlight, 3 coats plus topcoat

Yellows are notoriously difficult polishes to work with, but Where My Peeps At was surprisingly great, especially considering it is both a yellow and a crelly glitter. I used three coats in the photos above, and I found that this gave a perfect application. No streaks or visible nail line to be found, and no layering over another yellow required!

Can we talk for a second about how cute the name is? I'm not even the biggest fan of Peeps (I won't turn them down but I'm more of a Cream Egg kind of girl), but this has to be one of my favourite polish names in my collection.

What do you think of Where My Peeps At? Do you love the yellow + circle glitter combination like me? AND of course, what's your favourite Easter Candy?!

KBShimmer can be purchased from KBShimmer.com if you are in the US, and all international orders can be made at Harlow & Co. The KBShimmer Spring Collection is available now! You can also keep updated on the latest news on their Facebook page.

Urban Outfitters Dust

Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I saw Life of Pi last night (finally) and it was stunning and amazing! I can't believe it took me so long to see it...but better late than never!

In other news, with the loss of Google Reader (which I will post about later this week), I finally decided to make a Facebook page! Head on over there and give it a "like" if you feel so inclined. :)

Even though it's technically spring, it's still semi-snowy and semi-cold here, so how about a nice winter manicure? Urban Outfitters Dust is a silver glitter polish in a slightly blue tinted base. I counted at least three-four different sizes of glitters in Dust, ranging from the micro glitter to large hexes. For the pictures below I layered one coat of Dust over Revlon Royal, a royal blue jelly.

Urban Outfitters Dust

Urban Outfitters Dust appears to be a pretty quality dupe for Deborah Lippmann Today was a Fairytale. While I don't have Today was a Fairytale to compare, google tells me that they are very close.

Like most glitters, Dust has a pretty thick formula, but it ensures that you'll get a generous amount of glitter on the brush and it isn't gloopy. I also had no problem with the glitter curling, all of it stayed flat on my nails.

Dust has a great glitter payoff, and you could definitely wear it on its own after a few coats of polish. I really love how well it works as a layering polish though. I initially wanted to pair it with the dark, dusty navy of Essie Bobbing for Baubles, but I changed my mind and went with the lighter, royal blue of Revlon Royal. The wintery look Dust and Royal give off together warms my cold, snow-loving heart!

What do you think? Do you own any Urban Outfitters nail polish?

Daily Lacquer Come What May

I've mentioned before that Moulin Rouge! is my all-time favourite movie, so when I saw that Daily Lacquer, run by the lovely Maggy (aka the Daily Lacquerista) had a collection inspired by the movie, I was entirely too excited.

Today I'm showing you Daily Lacquer Come What May, of course named after the movie's signature song!

Come What May is a grey crelly polish filled with hot pink holographic and matte glitter of various sizes, including hearts! Pink and grey compliment each other so well, and the colours in Come What May are no exception.

Application was great, and like most crelly polishes it took three coats for opacity. I didn't have any trouble with glitter distribution - even the big hearts wanted to come out for some time to shine! This one did eat topcoat a bit, so I used two coats to get a super glossy finish. Just looking at this polish makes me want to burst into song :)

Come What May was initially sold out when I ordered my All You Need is Love collection polishes, and Maggy was kind enough to send this in a sample mini bottle. Maggy is really one of the sweetest bloggers I've had the pleasure of knowing during my time in the nail blogging world, and her Daily Lacquer polishes are really one-of-a-kind and fabulous!

You can find Daily Lacquer polishes for sale at DailyLacquer.com. You can keep updated on Daily Lacquer and future restocks and collections on the official Facebook page!

A England Dragon

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope the luck of the Irish is with you all today and you're having a fun time! Do you have any plans for today? Of course I have a lovely GREEN nail polish to share with you!

A England Dragon is a mossy, forest green holographic polish from The Legends collection.

Like St. George, A England Dragon has the most perfect application. It's smooth and creamy formula allows the polish to practically apply itself - I didn't have to do any clean-up! It's pretty even after one coat, but two layers of polish ensures it will look flawless!

Dragon has an intensely holographic sparkles that come alive in the sun! We're lucky to have a sunny St. Patrick's Day here, so Dragon fully shine. Overall, Dragon is a beautiful and amazing polish!

If you live within the UK, you can purchase A England polishes on their official website. If you are outside of the UK, you can buy A England from Llarowe. Keep updated on A England on Facebook and Twitter as well!

OPI Excuse Moi!

Hi everyone! I've sorry I've been MIA the past week and half but I have a reason, I promise! I've been apartment hunting and it's taken up a ton of my time! I found nice little bachelor today and I'm going into sign the lease this weekend. I'm really excited - it's my first place totally on my own!

OPI Excuse Moi! is a pink glitter from the Holiday 2011 Muppets collection. The pink micro-glitter base is filled with smaller coloured glitters, giving it a super fun and girly look.

Shade, 2 coats plus topcot

Unlike the other glitters from the Muppets collection that act more like glitter toppers, Excuse Moi! is completely opaque on its own after two coats. I love the look that the smaller glitters give to the overall look of the polish, it's just so fun!

I loved the Muppets collection, but I wish that there had been more polishes like Excuse Moi! in there. I wasn't too into the whole glitter topper look they had going on (with the exception of Rainbow Connection, obviously), but one of my biggest polish regrets is not buying Warm and Fozzie and Designer...de Better! when I had the chance.

What do you think of this pink glitter? Do you have any polishes from the Muppets collection?
